Square
If you take payments with Square (Tap to Pay on a phone, a card reader, or cash), connect it and every sale updates your SupplySynk stock automatically.
What happens
- A sale in the Square app becomes an order here (channel Square, paid, fulfilled) and takes the items out of stock, usually within seconds.
- A refund with returned items puts them back in stock.
- Stock you change in SupplySynk (receiving, counts, transfers) updates Square's counts, so Square doesn't sell what you don't have.
- Takings shows each day's card and cash totals, tips, refunds and Square's fees.
Connect (owners and admins)
- Settings → Square → Connect Square, and approve access on Square's page.
- Locations: choose which SupplySynk location each Square location sells from.
- Products: press Link products. SupplySynk matches your Square items to products by SKU, then by barcode. Tick what to link, import items that are only in Square, or add products that are only in SupplySynk to Square. Choose whose stock counts to start from.
- Ring up a sale in Square and watch it appear in the Sync log.
Good to know
- Only linked products change stock. Custom amounts and unlinked items are noted in the sync log.
- A sale is always recorded, even if SupplySynk showed too little stock; the product then shows negative stock until you count it.
- If something can't sync (for example a Square location that isn't linked), it waits in the sync log with the reason. Fix it, then press Retry.
- Disconnect stops syncing. Your links and history are kept if you reconnect.
